Four seats on the Central 301 Board of Education are up for election as a part of the Consolidated Election taking place on April 1, 2025.
Running for school board can sound daunting and the process can be overwhelming if you have never gone through it before. To help our community understand this process and make it easy to run for board of education, we are hosting a series on how to run for Board of Education
Join us along with Dave Chapman of the Central Education Association and Tony Malay of the Illinois Education Association to learn:
What the role of a BOE member actually is
What is involved in terms of time/commitment
What paperwork is necessary to become a candidate
Important timelines and deadlines to meet to get on the ballot
We will also have time for a Question & Answer session. We are here to take the fear out of running for the board and answer your questions! This is a ZOOM meeting, not a Facebook live.
There is a process to become a candidate starting with a time-sensitive piece: securing 100 signatures on a nomination petition from registered voters inside of the Central 301 boundary. This process begins on August 20, 2024, so if you are considering running, we strongly recommend you join us on August 15th.
