Central 301 Superintendent Search Page Superintendent Community Survey Link (English) Superintendent Community Survey Link (Spanish) Central 301 In-Person Forum - Superintendent Search takes place Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 7 PM at Central High School. For all intents and purposes, the Superintendent of a school district is employed at the will of the Board of Education and is considered the "Chief Executive Officer" for the district's operations. As such, it is the Board of Education that is responsible for overseeing the performance of the Superintendent and holding them ultimately accountable for performance of the district, including financial decisions and "stewardship of the assets of the district". Superintendents are employed via an employment contract. Here in Central D301, the current Superintendent's contract is a 5-year, performance-based contract as outlined in Illinois School Code 5/10-23.8. The challenge for 301 is that a review of our last two Superintendent contracts reflect no specific performance expectations in contrast to more detailed performance expectations found in other districts. |
